Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
Simplified Summary
- We do not track you. Everything GeoCeptor does happens locally on your device.
- No location logs. The GPS coordinates you spoof never leave your iPhone or Mac.
- No analytics. We do not monitor what websites you visit or what apps you use.
- Apple handles payments. If you buy a subscription, RevenueCat and Apple handle it securely. We don't see your credit card.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the GeoCeptor iOS application, macOS companion app, and Safari browser extensions (collectively, "GeoCeptor", "we", "our", or "us"). We recognize that privacy is a fundamental human right. Because our software is designed to protect your location privacy, we have built GeoCeptor to operate entirely on-device without phoning home or collecting telemetry.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
To be explicitly clear, GeoCeptor does not collect, store, transmit, or share:
- Your real or spoofed GPS coordinates, altitude, or speed.
- Your IP address, timezone, or locale.
- Your browsing history, search queries, or the websites you visit while using the Safari extension.
- Device identifiers, MAC addresses, or hardware fingerprints.
- Usage analytics or crash logs (unless you explicitly opt-in via Apple's native crash reporting).
3. Information Collected by Third Parties
While we do not run our own servers or databases, we rely on essential third-party infrastructure to deliver the app and process purchases:
- Apple App Store: When you download the app or make an in-app purchase, Apple collects basic transaction and device data according to their privacy policy.
- RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage and validate cross-device subscriptions securely. RevenueCat generates an anonymous App User ID to track subscription status. They do not have access to any location data or browsing activity. You can read the RevenueCat Privacy Policy here.
4. Local Storage and Permissions
GeoCeptor requires certain permissions to function:
- Location Services: We require Location Services access solely to override the system GPS APIs locally.
- Safari Extension Permissions: The extension requires permissions to read and modify web pages. This is used exclusively to inject spoofed location, timezone, and WebRTC data into the page's JavaScript context. This data is never extracted or sent anywhere.
5. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
7. Contact Us
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us via our support channels linked in the app or website footer.
